Transmedia
A transmedia story is developing a story across multiple media platforms. This is intended to provide key components of a story, sometimes not the whole story. The whole story could be told across multi-platform media. This media could consist of, books (different versions or translations), movies, T.V. shows, video games, and so on. The story moving through many medias often changes to that media which it is moving through. For example a movie could be made into a video game. Many things might be altered or changed from the original story of the movie. In the end, the movie will adapt to the culture of video games telling an adapted version of the original story over a video game.
Prime Example
Contrary to most transmedia the story or stories of the Bible usually do not change. The Bible is a prime example of a transmedia production. The Bible is the most read book across all of the whole world. The Bible is the book of all books and has been produced across all types of media platforms. It in fact might be the first transmedia ever produced. Being written over hundreds of centuries ago the Bible has went from being told on scrolls, books that include many translations and versions, movies, T.V. shows, and so on. There are many stories contained inside the Bible. When the Bible is produced across a media, the media tells the story of one of those stories contained with in the Bible. Contrary to most transmedia the story or stories of the Bible do not change over a media, they just adapt to that media.
